Summertime 2013

What a whirlwind of a summer this has been.  I feel like that is how life always is these days.  Even taking nice, relaxing vacations takes preparation, travel, energy (lots of Pepsi), and we never seem to actually slow down.  We've had fun in all of our rushing around though!

David closed out his semester with a very successful review on his Maxi Skirt company, Bellissima.  They grossed $12,000 in only 6 weeks!  His graduation turned into a mini Love family vacation, which was delightful!  Amy brought the kids up and we went to Rexburg Rapids for some fun in the sun.  We also visited Bear World, which Hyram loved.  I sat him on my lap in the car, and every time he could see a bear out the window, he would start oooooing.  It was so cute.  He was fearless in the petting zoo.  He hung out with one particular deer for quite awhile, and kicked a poor pig in the nose.  Oops.  My bad.

And...we are DONE with college!

One day, we tried out the new wake boarding place in town, The Cable Factory.  I think David was in heaven.  He, along with Spencer, Jaxon, and Chris, gave us a show trying out jumps and tricks.  Hyram loved hanging out on the shore and swimming.  The kid is a fish.

Grandpa Love, or "Pop" as Hyram likes to call him

We ended our summer piano program with a magical Disney-themed recital, and headed off to Lake Chelan the following day for the annual "Sisters Reunion."  I would prefer it if we started calling this reunion the "Bibby Bunch."  Has a better ring to it, don't you think?  I am set on Hyram being able to call Grandpa "Papa Bibby" by next year.  Hehehe.

We spent the week in Chelan swimming, lounging, eating, playing, running, eating, sleeping, eating, riding boats and Sea Doos, and...did I mention eating?  My goodness, we know how to snack.  I liked going to the water slide park, watching the cousin Olympics, and our new tradition of evening firesides.  It was so much more enjoyable this year not being preggo.

After our many adventures in Washington, we headed on down to Salem and celebrated my birthday with our favorites, Mike & Nancy.  We had a great weekend with them and their kiddos.  One day, we toured a music academy in Portland and even were able to meet with the director and grill him with questions about how he got to where he is now.  It was extremely insightful for both of us.

Since our big trip to the Northwest, we've been down to Utah once to go boating with the Love clan, and we are just trying to get organized enough to have 50+ piano students in and out of here in one week!  For three days last week, we had a booth at the Madison County Fair, and we collected over 100 leads on potential students.  We are excited to follow up on them and see if we can't fill all of our available lesson spaces.  We bought a new piano last week as well, so we can both teach at the same time.  Things are sure moving quickly for us! :)

Today, we spent the day working on our yard, which is strange to say.  We've never had a yard to work on before.  It has been fun, but it's hard!  Who knew how fast weeds could consume your entire life?

Speaking of weeds, Hyram is still growing like one.  He just hit 10 months, and is now wearing 24 month/2T clothes.  He gets more interactive every day and is getting ready to walk.  He can now climb up just about anything including the walls, and his personal favorite--my legs.  He can stand on his own for about three seconds, and his falls are much more controlled and graceful than they have been.  He loves going on walks in his stroller and taking baths.  His rubber duck is his current favorite toy, and he can say "duck" (guckk) now!  It's pretty cute.

I am excited to start teaching on campus.  I've met with the other El Ed faculty members twice now and I've set up my class online.  I think it will be a really fulfilling experience for me to be back in a classroom and doing something that I love outside the house for a little bit again.

Life is treating us well, and we are trying hard to keep up with it!
