Here's to a (hopefully) new tradition of yearly family photos. :) Maybe next year Hyram will give us more than one half-smile. :)

Eve!
For New Year's Eve this year, we took an excursion down to Salt Lake City's annual celebration, EVE! We went to the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit with Dana, Robert, and Grandpa Jay. It was really cool to see all of the artifacts, and the scroll fragments, but we were somewhat disappointed that there was not a single actual scroll to view. Oh well. It was still a fun learning experience. The exhibit we liked best in the museum was an interactive space on pixels for kids. There were a bunch of colorful square activities Hyram could manipulate and play with. He loved stacking blocks, tossing giant foam cubes, and moving color tiles on a light board.
After the museum, we headed over to City Creek and found a few sweet deals at the baby clothes store and the toy store. We also stopped in for a snack at Johnny Rockets. Hyram loves french fries like his Dad and milkshakes like his Mama. :)
Laughing like a ham...
So excited to eat fries!
He also surprisingly LOVES ice water. Definitely got that one from Dad, not Mom!

We were tempted to buy this giant gukk. :)

Candy display...yum.
The lights at temple square are always so pretty. We had fun in the JSM building listening to the musical performances they had going on all night. We got out of the cold for about an hour in there, enjoying some hot cocoa and listening. Hyram loved clapping after each song.
After the downtown festivities, we made our way over to the Torman house for our 4th annual Nerf war extravaganza. I am pretty sure no eyes were gouged this time. Hyram's favorite part of the evening was spent climbing and bouncing on stairs.
Happy New Year!
The First Noel
Okay, okay...so Hyram was technically alive last year for Christmas, but this was the first one that counted for him. While he was still a little young for all of the festivities, having a kid around certainly makes Christmas more magical.
Out of my plethora of snowglobes, this was Hyram's favorite one because he could push the little light switch on the side.
Uncle Garet came over for a Christmas breakfast the Sunday before he headed to Oregon and we went to Utah.
Hyram's first official Christmas package to open!
When he pulled open the tissue, he yelled, "SHOES?!"
He hated his new hat.
Garet continues to like books.
We spent the week of Christmas and New Year's Eve in Utah, celebrating Love style.

Lilly...is excited.
Amy and her kids spent the 12 nights before Christmas doorbell ditching a new gift to Dana to go along with the 12 days of Christmas. They brought the final gift to the Christmas Eve party. It was all so thoughtful and pretty!

Four Generations of Love men! We are really grateful to have this picture now. Grandpa Jay Love passed away last week, and we were able to go down to his funeral this past weekend. He will be missed, but we are excited for him to be back with Grandma!

Hyram loved looking at the nativity, and he was so obedient when I told him not to touch it. We were able to leave it out on the coffee table all week long!

Santa came to worship Jesus this year!
This was Hyram's first experience meeting the big guy...
He tried to escape...
And was mad when he couldn't...
Really mad...
Luckily, he was saved.
Brian & Chanelle made the coolest, most beautiful handmade gifts this year!
Hyram's favorite spot was the bottom of this stair.
He loved his little dog from cousin Sarah!

Playing with Dad
Santa left pretty gifts before he left! Hyram got a new basketball hoop for the kitchen to match his new Air Jordan's from Uncle Garet.
Our yummy hot cocoa was set up and ready to go for the morning!
Coming in on Christmas morning!
Opening stockings
But, he would still prefer the stairs...

Such a happy Dad :)
Denae gets to go to Time Out for Women with Cathy!
New Earrings!
New Watch!
It tooks us about three days to open Hyram's presents because he could only handle opening one every dozen hours. :)
Merry Christmas 2013!
