For New Year's Eve this year, we took an excursion down to Salt Lake City's annual celebration, EVE! We went to the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit with Dana, Robert, and Grandpa Jay. It was really cool to see all of the artifacts, and the scroll fragments, but we were somewhat disappointed that there was not a single actual scroll to view. Oh well. It was still a fun learning experience. The exhibit we liked best in the museum was an interactive space on pixels for kids. There were a bunch of colorful square activities Hyram could manipulate and play with. He loved stacking blocks, tossing giant foam cubes, and moving color tiles on a light board.
After the museum, we headed over to City Creek and found a few sweet deals at the baby clothes store and the toy store. We also stopped in for a snack at Johnny Rockets. Hyram loves french fries like his Dad and milkshakes like his Mama. :)
Laughing like a ham...
So excited to eat fries!
He also surprisingly LOVES ice water. Definitely got that one from Dad, not Mom!

We were tempted to buy this giant gukk. :)

Candy display...yum.
The lights at temple square are always so pretty. We had fun in the JSM building listening to the musical performances they had going on all night. We got out of the cold for about an hour in there, enjoying some hot cocoa and listening. Hyram loved clapping after each song.
After the downtown festivities, we made our way over to the Torman house for our 4th annual Nerf war extravaganza. I am pretty sure no eyes were gouged this time. Hyram's favorite part of the evening was spent climbing and bouncing on stairs.
Happy New Year!
Sounds like fun! Were the dead sea scrolls (the museum in general I guess) a free exhibit?
